TwentyFifteen – As the theme changes so will I

Have you ever hit that wall in your life, where you could keep going on and be unsatisfied or change? Yeah I hit that this month. I work 8-5, Monday-Friday and having such a planned repetitive schedule has really added a lot of ‘blah’ to my life. I want adventure and memories, not what I have been doing up to this point. I decided 2015 should be a year to have fun and do things outside my comfort zone.

  1. I have never worked out to lose weight.
I have only ever lost weight through counting calories and changing my diet. Talk about putting me outside of my comfort zone… I signed up at a gym. Granted, the gym has massages and tanning, but it’s a legit gym and I have signed up to work out 4 times a week. Losing weight is a perk, but really I just want to get stronger and healthier. I’m 24, I’ve partied hard in college and now it is time to  take care of me. Working out is always something I told myself I couldn’t do, so I am excited to beat my old expectation to a pulp with some kick-boxing.
  2. Cooking.
I want to become a better cook and cook more. I love cooking. Basically I live off of Chef Gordon Ramsey shows (not kidding), and he is pretty much a role model to me. He cooks tasty and healthy foods all the time and keeps himself in tiptop shape. Cooking food at home is so much healthier than eating out (duh!), knowing what goes into your food can really teach you a lot. Financially It is impossible for me to eat completely unprocessed, but I am trying my best. Hopefully by this time next year I will have many new techniques and recipes under my culinary belt :).
  3. Fun.
For some reason having fun puts me outside of my comfort zone. I have pushed myself so much to become a ‘responsible adult’ that when I have fun, I feel guilty and feel that I should be doing something else like cleaning. I want to get rid of this anxiety and just have fun again. I want to go to hockey games and do things I have never done this year… like fly on a plane! (yeah I am that lame)
  4. Appreciate the ones I have in my life
I am going to celebrate and appreciate the ones I have close more. They are my biggest supporters and if it weren’t for them I wouldn’t be where I am! Its going to be a crazy exciting year with all of you lovelies :).
  5. I want to sharpen my web skills
I work as a WordPress Designer. Which is awesome…
WordPress, I love you and you have forever changed my life <3!
I also want to continue to get better at WP development. I want to learn JavaScript and PHP. I know a little now, but I want to do more. I tend to feel powerless a lot, so I think getting better at development will help me!
Being a web designer means, staying up-to-date with current trends, which gets difficult, but I can’t wait to see what 2015 brings to the design world.
I also want to see what’s out there… With technology evolving, so are web skills. I want to see what new technologies 2015 brings as well and make sure I keep up with those as well.

P.s. I really want to own a 3D printer one day. They are so cool and can do so much to improve peoples’ lives. I hope soon to be a part of this community.

I could go on, but that is basically it. I know that when life is tough, it feels like it may be impossible to climb out of the hole, but it is more plausible than you think. I think we are all are worst enemy at times and we need to go easy on us. If you love and support yourself, nothing will get in your way!
